Andrea McKinney is a passionate community builder focused on supporting positive change, driving innovation and government modernization. As General Manager of Corporate Services for the Town of Orangeville, Andrea leads a portfolio focused on improving quality of life for residents by implementing services and approaches that leverage technology and data.

Previously, Andrea served as the City of Hamilton’s first Chief Digital Officer, responsible for developing and delivering the City’s first Digital Transformation and Smart City Strategy and Implementation Plan. As executive sponsor for CityLAB, she co-led the creation of a social innovation hub that brings together students, academics, and civic leaders in a collaborative partnership with McMaster University, Mohawk College, and Redeemer University.

Supporting the Mayor’s Intelligent Community Task Force as a key liaison for the private sector, Andrea worked actively with the telecommunications industry to build relationships and attract over $400 million in investments in digital infrastructure and internet connectivity in the City of Hamilton. She also was the municipal lead on a team that resulted in Hamilton becoming one of the Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Network Regional Technology Development Sites.
